Can I tell you how much I LOVE being back on a schedule?
My body and mind crave a set schedule. With my hubby's dad being in the hospital last week and then coming home and needing full-time care, things were thrown off.
I like knowing that on Monday my hubby cleans the house. I like knowing that I go thrifting on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and list on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. I'm so glad things are finally settling down a bit.
Here are a few things that have sold during the last couple of days:
1. Ralph Lauren black long skirt, sold for $25.
2. Talbots ballet flats, sold for $29 within an hour of listing. Notice the new background? It is vinyl and measures 5' x 4'.
3. Hot Cotton two-piece set, sold for $20.
4. Vineyard Vines sailboat print skirt, sold for $30.
5. JS Boutique navy blue cocktail dress, sold for $28.
6. Cupcake Cartridge. I purchased this at Wal-Mart. It had a clearance sticker of $2. It sold for $15 within a week of listing. It was SUPER easy to list (no measurements!) and I made a profit of $11.
7. Chico's suede skirt, sold for $55.
8. Anthropologie "Cartonnier" brand black jacket, sold for $37.
9. Anthropologie "Corey Lynn Calter" brand skirt, sold for $75. It was the adorable fox print that sold it.
10. Ralph Lauren light blue denim long skirt, sold for $23.
11. J. Crew purple print top, sold for $25.
12. CAbi fold-down waist skirt, sold for $21.
13. Talbots sleeveless blue dress, sold for $22.
14. Anthropologie "Maple" brand feather print dress, sold for $28.
15. Ralph Lauren light pink skirt, sold for $28

Persimmon tastes like potpouri
Last week was the 10th week of my New Year's resolution to taste one new fruit or veggie every week. I'm about 3 weeks behind. I plan to catch up and eat 4 fruits/veggies next week.
I tried persimmon. TJ Maxx had a bag of dried persimmon for $4.99. That is a LOT more than I normally pay for fruit but I thought it would be worth it if I liked it. The looked fairly good in the package.
It turns out they are awful. Truly disgusting. I felt like I was eating (and tasting) potpourri.
I ate about 1/2 a piece and then threw these out. They were that gross. $5 down the drain.
Anyway...
My father-in-law is home from the hospital. He had knee surgery about 10 days ago. My hubby has been staying with him which means we don't get to see each other as much as we are use to. It is odd to have the entire house by myself. It is very quiet (and a bit creepy) at night.
I was going to post a photo of my father-in-law's knee but it is fairly gross. It took 50+ staples to close the incision. It is over 10" long. He was proud to show it off and I loved looking (and photographing!) it.
I have been listing on ebay and trying to catch up on sleep. It isn't working - I was up at 5:30am this morning. Way too early!
This will be my last week to sell on ebay since we are going on vacation soon. I'm going shopping today since I'm about out of unlisted inventory. I know I need a vacation when I dread shopping. Ha.
More later. I'm too tired right now to blog anymore.

Recently Ebay Sales - 3/18
Guess who came home today? My father-in-law! He had knee surgery last Tuesday. My hubby is staying with him for awhile but we are thrilled to have him home.
I went shopping today...the first time in a long time since we have been spending so much time at the hospital. I went to three thrifts and found a total of about 40 items. We had a major snow storm so it took me awhile to make it home. But, I won't have to thrift for another couple of days.
Here is what sold recently:
1. Pine Cone Hill duvet cover. I found this at a Goodwill Outlet. The Outlets have the left-over stuff from regular Goodwills - the stuff that doesn't sell. I purchased it for about $2 if my memory is correct. It sold for $64.
2. Joseph Ribkoff jersey dress, sold for $25.
3. DKNY blue & white striped skirt, sold for $23.
4. Some more of the Target swimsuits I found at Goodwill. This buyer purchased two from me - each for $16.
5. Ralph Lauren linen blazer in a plus-size. Purchased for $1 in Ohio and sold for $33.
6. Moda International (a Victoria's Secret catalog brand) animal print dress, sold for $21.
7. Exclusively Misook black knit pants, sold for $38.
8. Ming Wang knit skirt, sold for $38. I found this brand through another seller that I admire and kind of stalk :) She was pricing this brand high. I have seen the brand but never picked it up. It always looks kind of boring. I will now add this brand to my list!
9. Brooks Brothers coral print skirt, sold for $22.50.
10. Talbots silk long floral skirt, sold for $25.
11. Talbots silk dress & matching belt, sold for $21.
12. Chico's printed jacket, sold for $28.
13. Chico's orange dress, sold for $23.
14. The Limited printed wrap dress, sold for $22.50. Wrap dresses consistently do well for me.
15. Boston Proper peacock printed top, sold for $27 within two days of listing. Notice my new fun banner back drop? I love it.
16. Carole Little black skirt, sold for $23.
17. Wen's SixThirteen Conditioner, sold for $29.
18. Ann Taylor floral dress (and matching jacket, not shown), sold for $24.50.
19. Connected jersey dress, sold for $21.
20. Christopher & Banks long skirt, sold for $17. C&B isn't something I normally pick up. I just started adding this brand to the list if I can get the item for $1 or less. I paid just 20 cents for this skirt!

Tabitha
I recently had a conversation about tattoos. It started like this "If you could get any tattoo, what would it be?"
I had my answer ready. I would get a small tattoo of the name "Tabitha". My name is not Tabitha and there is no one in my life named Tabitha. So why would I get a tattoo of the name?
Because the Bible story in Acts 9 amazes me and brings tears to my eyes every time I read it.
"Now there was in Joppa a disciple named Tabitha...She was full of good works and acts of charity. In those days she became ill and died, and when they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room....All the widows stood...weeping and showing tunics and other garments that Tabitha made while she was with them. But Peter put them all outside and knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said "Tabitha, arise." And she opened her eyes and sat up. And he gave her his hand and raised her up. Then he presented her alive." -Acts 9: 36-37, 39-41
This is the only time that Tabitha is ever mentioned in the Bible. She appears in only 8 verses.
I always wondered why it was included in the Bible. God could have very easily skipped adding the story.
We don't know much about Tabitha (who is called Dorcas by the Greeks). We know that she is kind and she makes clothing for the poor and widowed. Her life was probably a simple one and she did not draw much attention.
However, her life touched others. So much so that when she died, two of her friends went to find Peter. Peter was 12 miles away in Lydda. When he arrives he is greeted by grieving friends who show him all that she did for them.
Peter asks everyone to leave and then kneels in front of Tabitha's body. He commands her to rise.
I cannot imagine how Tabitha would feel. She had died and was with Jesus in heaven. And then she is back on earth. She must have felt shock. And she must have known how much she was loved.
She led a quiet life. She was not a rock star. She was not a Super Bowl champion. She was not Billy Graham. According to the world today, Tabitha might have been considered a loser. She hung out with the poor and widowed.
And yet her making tunics for the poor touched lives. I want my life to mirror Tabitha's. I realize I will never be a star according to the world. And I am honestly okay with that. I don't need to be a star. I just want to live my life simply and touch lives.
By the way, I am way too scared to get a tattoo. My sister knows this and hand embroidered me a pillow case...of the name Tabitha.

Recent Ebay Sales - 3/13/13
My father-in-law was in great spirits today. I love to watch him joke with the nurses. He gets such a chuckle when they don't know how to take him.
He was walking around a bit twice today (his knee replacement surgery was YESTERDAY and he is already walking!) and may be coming home this weekend! The original plan was to have him in rehab for a month. The new plan is to discharge him home. Of course we would live with him for a few weeks. He is thrilled.
We have been at the hospital a lot over the last few days. In between our visits, I have been busy packaging the sold items.
Here are some recent sales:
