Week in Photos 5/27/2015

The week started with a decision. We have hired a real estate agent to sell our home back in PA. It will be well worth the 6% just for me not to have to use the computer multiple times a day. We got to see photos of our new roof and we love it. Too bad we didn't do it sooner so we could have actually enjoyed a night under the new roof!

Also this week was a doctor's appointment. I pretty much love my doctor. She is amazing. My blood work came back and I had a super low B12 level, low vitamin D and a low iron level. No new news there. A few other odd levels were low and that resulted in me getting one more test in a few weeks. I also had fluid around my ankles and fingers. Again, no surprise seeing they hurt every day. But it was nice to know that all this pain can be seen on an X-ray.

And I'm back to B12 injections.

My sister made these gorgeous pillowcases! We sent them out this week to a few friends this week.

Bob, the blue heron, on my chair.

 A bad morning. Sigh.

A gorgeous sunrise captured from the back yard. (Thanks pain for waking me up early again)

Silly Bob.

Our week in photos - 5/13/15

The Gulf is starting to feel like bath water again which is great for my poor body.

Earlier in the week we visited a "new" (to us) beach. It is on the south end of AMI and is right before the Longboat Key bridge. There is no swimming here and so we mostly just sat and enjoyed the scenery. We did take a quick dip or two but the police patrol the area and will make you get out of the water if they catch you. They have good reason. The current is strong and people have died here.

These next two people jumped on a paddle board to cross the water. The man on the back paddled while wearing a back pack and a white bird on his shoulder. We were quite impressed.

 Florida is a magical place.

Flat Ryleigh's beach wardrobe

While trying to photograph Flat Ryleigh, Bob happened to stop by the back yard. For those that don't know, Bob is a Blue Heron and he visits us daily.

Also happening in the yard...pink flowers are falling from a tree out front. They are so pretty! If my hands were good enough, I would try to turn these into perfume. They smell amazing.

I completely forgot to post this photo. Our church back in PA gave us a beach themed cake and gift bag. We have the flip flops on our fridge since they are magnets.

Hello Friends

This post is just going to be a mishmash of stuff. I started this blog to just journal for myself. It might have been more interesting when I was working or selling on ebay. But, this is my life for now

Still SO pretty!

Last week I went to the CRPS/RSD research center in Tampa. I was quite impressed with the doctor and he did a pretty thorough evaluation of my body. Yup, I have CRPS. I keep thinking someone may tell me I don't and it can easily be fixed by doing "x". Anyway, my choices are Ketamine or wait. The Ketamine is a four day treatment and costs a small fortune. Our insurance doesn't cover it (no surprise).

I'm already in year 3 of having this silly thing and waiting another few months for Ketamine won't be a problem. (update: Ketamine is scheduled for the last two weeks of January 2016)

Last night I had a rough night. My hands curled and things got pretty bad. I snapped this photo at around 3am (thanks voice activation mode!). I was able to see the sun rise and sat on the back porch until the most intense pain eased up. And then it hit me again later. Wow. I forget how bad the pain can get.

On a more positive note, my the bruise on my knee is fading. It is in the light green & yellow stage.

Cortez Beach, May 4

May 4

Yesterday we were sitting there and I saw something surface. I guessed correctly - a manatee! He (she?) was lazily swimming between the two piers for quite some time.

I made the hubby go in and pet the manatee. I had pet one years ago but he didn't get to. He may have been a bit scared (to my husband: ha- that is what you get for not wanting to touch a manatee!). And he thanked me later. He said that the manatee was slimy and hard and huge.

May 4. This is the only photo of the manatee I have. He is the dark object to the left of the family. (Worst photo ever - sorry!)
