Don't you love when plans change? No? Me neither. Ha!
My hubby stopped at his father's on the way to the Sunday night service yesterday. He called me a few minutes after he left home. His father needed to go to the ER.
I threw on some clothing, packed a granola bar and was at his house in under 10 minutes.
Long story made a bit shorter... My father-in-law needs a new knee. He has two artificial knees. The left artificial knee is completely 'crushed' and he has a crack in his bone. He cannot put any weight on it or it could crack and give out which would cause him to fall.
They admitted him and the surgery is tomorrow. This type of surgery is going to be hard on anyone but it is a major surgery for someone of his age.
In fact, the doctor didn't want to do the surgery. At this point though, the doctor has no choice. A special knee will be ordered for him.
It is going to be a rough few months for our family and I would truly appreciate prayers.
Our North Carolina vacation which was set for the next two weeks is cancelled. I am feeling at peace with this and truly thank God that we can be here for my father-in-law.

Thanks for the prayers :) His surgery is at 10am tomorrow. He will be in the hospital for a few days and then rehab for 3-4 weeks. I'll keep you updated :)
