Day 10 Isagenix Update

For the last 10 days I have eaten extremely healthy, low calories meals. I have been using the Isagenix 30-day cleanse.

This morning I stepped on the scale and I have lost a total of 4 pounds in the last 10 days. I have 20 days to go and am hoping to lose (and keep off!) 8-10 pounds so I am definitely on track.

I wish I could add exercise to my plan but my knee is still too swollen to do too much of anything.

After church yesterday we went to an all-you-cat-eat buffet and I had a slice of ham, a small salad with carrots, lettuce and a bit of dressing and a small brownie. I felt full and didn't walk away feeling guilty. The brownie was amazing since I haven't eaten too much processed sugar in the last 10 days.

Recent Ebay Sales

Ebay is having a listing sale (through Sunday) for those with ebay stores and so I put over half of my ebay store items for auction. They will end in four or five days and because they are the kind of listings that the buyer bids on and doesn't purchase immediately, I don't have much to post today.

But, here are a few of the recent sales:

1. Gap girl's corduroy dress. My thrifts offer children's clothing for 99 cents a piece. I usually don't even go to the children's section but I was passing on the way to the bathroom and this adorable dress caught my eye. Sold for $14.

2. Ralph Lauren "blanket" skirt. This was a small size (4P) or it would have sold for more. Sold for $40.

3. BCBG longer length sweater. Sold for $29.

4. Vera Bradley purse, sold for $35.

And I will give you a sneak peak of a listing that is doing VERY well! It is over $100 with four days left. A dress from the 1920's.

Day 8 Weigh-In

For those that don't know, I am doing the Isagenix 30 day cleanse. Today is day 8 and my weight is...149.3! I have lost 3 lbs in the last 7 days.

I took my measurements before the cleanse started and again this morning and I have lost a total of 3" overall - 1" from my waist alone.

Most people lose around 5-8 pounds the first week but I have not been able to exercise at all due to my knee healing after surgery. My stitches are out and the doctor gave me a prescription for an  anti-inflammatory which is going to help with the swelling. Hopefully I will be able to walk without a limp soon.

Yesterday was a "cleanse day" where you don't eat food and just drink the special cleanse drinks. The drinks are a berry flavor and are actually pretty good over ice. They have a bit of a tart flavor which I liked but you could add no calorie sweetener if you didn't.

There is a little note on the plan that says if you are shaky, you can have 1/4 apple or pear. The plan also says you can have the little chocolate wafers that are included. Let me say this about the wafer - I  tried it a few days ago and it tasted like chocolate chalk. But, when you are VERY hungry, they are wonderful. They taste better and are fairly filling. You get to eat 6 on a cleanse day.

I made it until about 4pm without food (I did eat the chocolate wafers though). I kept myself very, very busy and tried not to think about the hunger. I was up at 6am so I went 10 hours without real food. At 4pm I had the apple, except I had the entire apple. It was delicious. And at 9pm, I had a 90-calorie granola bar. I know my body and knew there was no way that I was sleeping the entire night without waking up from hunger.

I will continue on. I am hoping to lose 8-10 pounds in the 30 days and I am right on track.

Isagenix Cleanse Update

Today is day 7 of my 30-day Isagenix cleanse. The first two days were super hard, the third was less hard and the last few days weren't so bad.

Basically Isagenix is a shake for breakfast a mid-morning healthy snack, a healthy meal, another snack in the afternoon and a shake in the evening. There is also some supplements to keep things moving (ummm...your bowels. Yup, I said bowels in a blog) and an energy drink.

You choose the healthy meal and the snacks can be a choice between a bunch of Isagenix products. Since the Fiber One bars I love are almost exactly identical to the Isagenix fiber bars, I am eating those instead. I can get a box of 10 for $4.50 at Wal-Mart which is much cheaper than the Isagenix price.

Today will be the hardest day yet. It is "cleanse day". That is when you don't actually eat food and just do the special cleanse drinks they provide. It is supposed to "release" a bunch of weight.

I have only went without food one other day that I remember. It was when I was in high school and we were doing a 30 hour famine. And I remember someone sneaking in food and I may have eaten some chips. I am not confessing that I did...but I may have.

So, I probably haven't been an entire day without food. Not eating causes me dizziness, headaches, shaky hands and overall crankiness. Obviously I am a bit nervous about today.

Tomorrow I will let you know how it went along with my official Day 8 weight (Isagenix has weigh-in days of Day 8 and Day 30).

Recent Ebay Sales

Here are some things that have sold on ebay:

1. Chico's lace jacket (isn't it so pretty?), sold for $50.

2. Gap black skirt, sold for $15.

3. Ralph Lauren long black denim skirt, sold for $30.

4. Chico's Travelers slinky open jacket, sold for $23.

5. Talbots palm tree printed skirt, sold for $15.

6. Citiknits slinky two piece set. Citiknits is sold on QVC and has an okay following on ebay. If I can get it cheap enough, I usually pick it up. This set sold for $27.

7. Nautica skirt, sold for $13. I am mentioning this one since it went to Portugal. I recently opened up some listings for international sales. The person emailed me for a quote and using the USPS I was able to determine that it was going to be around $12 for first class international mail. She was great with that and bought it. By using ebay to print my shipping labels (not paypal), I can print first class international labels. It prints them to any laser printer (not a Dymo or other label maker) and even prints the customs form. I no longer have to go to the post office for international sales!

8. Ann Taylor skirt, sold for $14. This came from a bag sale and I wanted to keep it. But if I kept everything that fit me or I loved, I would have WAY too many clothes (okay...I already have way too many clothes but I would have more).

9. Talbots skirt, sold for $29. This one sold for more than my usual Talbots skirt since it was new with tags, was a plus sized and was summer-y.

10. Talbots silk dress, sold for $27.

11. St. John oufit. I realize this is a repeat. That is because the previous buyer didn't like it and so she paid to send it back to me. I refunded her and re-listed it. And it re-sold within a day for $187. Hopefully this buyer likes it! I do have a 14-day return policy, which I constantly reconsider when someone returns something. But doing so gets me 20% off of ebay & paypal fees and so far it the discount makes it worth it.

12. Talbots white & green skirt, sold for $20.

13. And now for some random stuff that sold for about $10-15.
-Dressbarn Black dress, sold for $10
-Boston Proper wool dress, sold for $15
-Victoria's Secret slip, sold for $9
-Anthropologie's "FEI" brand top, sold for $15

-Talbots Skirt, sold for $10

My cousin asked me last night if I would buy a skirt for $3 if I could sell it for $10. Remember, ebay & paypal take about 20% so that would leave a profit of $5.

I am okay with a profit of $5 once in awhile. I wouldn't be doing this full time if I only made $5 on each item but $5 is $5.

I am selling on ebay to pay the bills. I am doing this full-time and if I ever cannot make as much as I need to, I will have to look for a "real" job.

My average sale is $25 right now. Since I pay about $1-$5 for my inventory (plus the average bag sale!), my profit is higher than $5.

However, if you are doing this for a hobby and can list about 10 things with a profit of $5, that is $50 you didn't have from one day of shopping and listing.

I have no children and my husband is amazing and almost self sufficient (he would disagree but he cleans, cooks and takes care of his father). I have the time to sit down and list 20 items a day.

For those of you with families and children, it would be harder. I couldn't imagine what I am doing with children at home. I am at the computer at 6am to print shipping labels. I am shopping 3x a week. I am coming home, washing everything and then listing until around 6pm. I then print more shipping labels. Evenings are spent with the hubby.

I hope that helps. Selling on ebay isn't an easy or magical thing but if you are willing to work hard and can get inventory cheap enough, it is profitable.

Okay...I'm going to get ready to SHOP today!

Isagenix: Day 5 - Lost another pound!

I survived the first four days of the Isagenix 30-day cleanse. I have been told the worst is behind me.

In the last four days, I have lost 2 pounds. I am up before 6am and I am not exhausted. Both of those are pretty impressive.

Today I am off to thrift for the day and so I will pack a cooler with "snacks" (fruits, yogurt and a salad) so I am not tempted to go to the nearest drive thru.

Want to try Isagenix? Click HERE for the original post. It is a little over $10 a day and has a 30 day money back guarantee.

Down 1 Pound

Well, after three days of Isagenix, I have lost 1 pound. While that is not a lot of weight, if I continue on this path, I should lose about 8-10 pounds in the 30 days.

I also feel my stomach bloating is decreasing. This is pretty amazing in itself since I am due to get "my aunt Flo" at the end of this week.

I wish I was sleeping better but this is not due to the Isagenix. It is due to my knee. I am really hoping the stitches coming out on Wednesday will help the swelling. The swelling is getting worse and it is uncomfortable.

I realize this post is super short but I have to go package a bunch of stuff that sold on ebay before the mail carrier gets here.

Recent Ebay Sales

I decided to mark some items 25% off in my ebay store since things have been slow on ebay for me lately. Well - it worked! I have been selling up a storm.

For those of you with ebay stores (cost is around $16/month), you can use your "mark down manager" to reduce your items by percentage or by dollar amounts. I usually do a 10-15% sale but this time I was aggressive and did the 25% off.

If you don't have an ebay store, the real reason to open one is that the 30-day Fixed Priced listings are 20 cents vs. the 50 cents that non-store owners pay. BUT, non-store owners get 50 free listings a month and store owners do not.

Ebay is having a listing sale starting tomorrow for store owners. All 3, 5 and 7 day AUCTION listings are free. HERE is the link for more info.

And here is what has sold within the last few days:

1 & 2. Fresh Produce dresses. One for $15, one for $22.

 3. Ralph Lauren "Crest" Jacket, sold for $45. These usually do well and although if I would have kept this until autumn it would have went for higher, I am glad it sold now.

4 - 6. Talbots skirts & dress. Each sold for $15.

7. H&M sweater. I usually don't pick up H&M because it is fairly cheap to buy in the store and it doesn't do well for me. This was my personal sweater and it hung in my closet for over a year. I put it on, decided the neckline was too wide...and then put it back. It fit me so I felt the need to keep it. Plus - HOW STINKIN' CUTE IS THIS?!? I am in love with the ruffles. I finally decided to sell it and it went for $26 within hours of listing.

8. Victoria's Secret brand new corset & thong. Sold for $15.
9. Jason Wu for Target was one of those Target lines that sold out within hours (the other that comes to mind is Missoni for Target). I found this purse at the local thrift. I actually picked it up for my mom who was looking for a basket/straw type purse. It wasn't her style and so I sold it - it went for $30!

10. J. Crew - I love this brand for resale, especially if the stuff is funky. This skirt went for $20.

I am planning on staying home tomorrow and listing what little I have left - about 20 pieces - from left week. I have a new little steamer coming in tomorrow's mail that I bought on ebay and it will hopefully make my items look less wrinkly.
