Happy Monday!

miscellany monday at lowercase letters

Happy Monday!

Yesterday after church we picked up my father-in-law and went to a "end of summer" bash at a local elementary show. My husband's oldies band played and all the monies went to a charity. The day was gorgeous - about 60 degrees and sunny.

My hubby is the tall one in the cut off white t-shirt.

In addition to the band there were HUNDREDS upon hundreds of old cars and great food. I was good and skipped the fair food and had a granola bar.

I forgot to take a photo of the hubby & me at the fair. My hair was cooperating and I had an actual "outfit" put together instead of my normal yoga pants and tee. I did take a photo of my hair after we got home (and I already changed out of my cute outfit).

We have been back from FL only 5 days and my tan is already starting to fade. It is so sad! I think we will just have to go back soon ;)

I am excited to see the leaves change colors which will be happening in about 2 weeks. Autumn is my favorite season. And it is even better now that I can fit into jeans that were too small last year!

One last thing before I go take the calming pills that will make me loopy. I won a blog giveaway!  I have never tried NutriSystem and will be excited to try their granola bars! Thanks The Chatty Mommy!

Recent Ebay Sales - 9/16

Pennsylvania has been beautiful recently. I have very much enjoyed driving with the window's down and feeling the crisp air of autumn. I have been thrifting a LOT since coming home from Florida and thankfully I have had some good sales these past few days.

1. Eileen Fisher jacket, sold for $65- sold within 12 hours of listing.

2. L.L. Bean plaid skirt, sold for $15 - sold within 12 hours of listing.

3. Talbots Gray skirt, sold for $27 - sold within 2 days of listing.

4. Chico's purple jeans, sold for $25 - sold within 2 days of listing.

5. Calvin Klein linen dress, sold for $25 (yes, even with this awful photo). The purchaser of this dress also bought the next three pieces. I love when buyers purchase more than one item!

6. Talbots skirt, sold for $21.

7. Talbots skirt, sold for $13.

8. Talbots skirt, sold for $13.

9. Talbots skirt, sold for $13. (I see a pattern here!)

10. Talbots skirt & jacket suit, sold for $28.

11. Talbots blazer, sold for $30.

12. Ann Taylor skirt, sold for $21.

13. Hanna Andersson top. I have NO idea why I purchased this at the thrift. It is a plain t-shirt and I normally don't purchase plain, boring items. I got it for $2 and sold it quickly for $10. Not a huge profit but thankfully I made a few dollars and it sold within 12 hours of listing.

14. Chico's size "0" (their smallest size) top, sold for $15 - sold within 12 hours of listing.

15. Calvin Klein sweater dress, sold for $25.

16. Tahari by Arthur S. Levin skirt & jacket suit, sold for $23.

17. Vivienne Tam nylon skirt, sold for $23 - sold within MINUTES of listing!

18. Ralph Lauren wool blend skirt, sold for $17.

This week will be busy and I am not sure of how many times I will get to thrift shop. Monday (tomorrow) I am taking my elderly father-in-law to the doctor for blood work. After that I have to go to the dentist. If you haven't read my past posts, I HATE, HATE, HATE the dentist. Thankfully I have a dentist that gives me prescription "calming" pills. I take two and will be OUT for the rest of the day.

Tuesday I go back to the knee doctor. 10 months ago while walking with my mom & sister my knee made a popping sound. 5 months ago I had knee surgery. I thought it was fine and even went walking 3-5 miles a day for a couple of weeks in Florida. I felt great...until I didn't. I had shooting pains through my knee and I literally could not walk. I have tried to walk once since then and made it only a few minutes into our walk. I am taking a lot of Advil and would like to stop.

Hopefully I can shop on Wednesday!

Back from vacation WEIGH-IN

I very much enjoyed eating vacation food - Waffle House, McDonalds, Cici's Pizza, Taco Bell, Dairy Queen (more than once!) - ice cream, french fries, hamburgers, pizza - you get the idea.

I tried to eat healthy on a daily basis and then splurged during the last week or so. And so...I was a bit nervous the first time I stepped on the scale.

Surprisingly I only gained 2 1/2 pounds during the month of vacation.

I am going back to eating healthy. I feel better when I eat healthy. It is a bit addicting actually. I never thought I would say that but it is true.

My point of view is to eat healthy for ONE day. Each day I do that is a success.

My next goal is to get to 138lbs by November. This would mean a 4.5 pound weight loss. I am going to continue drinking my Isagenix shakes and eating about 1500 calories a day. I am going to walk atleast 3 times a week.

We are back in PA - brrr!

We drove straight from FL to PA. That is a 17 hour drive in one day. We had originally planned to stay a night at a hotel but we literally could not find one that had a room open. We called around 20 hotels in four different locations and for some weird reason, they were all full. On a Tuesday. Anyway...

We got home around 1am. I crashed while my awesome hubby unpacked, did the wash, cleaned the house and basically did everything that I planned to do the next day. Awesome, right?

Yesterday we tried to catch up on sleep, visited my hubby's elderly father, went thrifting (I missed it!) and went grocery shopping.

We left FL and it was supposed to be 90 degrees that day. We got home and it was around 45 degrees. Thankfully it was almost 80 degrees today. I already miss the beach!

Our last night in FL we went to a small amusement park. We were the only people at the park!

See my "regular people" clothes? That is what I call jean shorts, a white t-shirt & sneakers. I very, very rarely wear jean shorts and sneakers. I am usually in a skirt and ballet flats (which I think are more comfortable).

Tomorrow I will be posting my weight. After a month of not watching everything that I put into my mouth, we will see how much I gained. Scary! But, I am back to my Isagenix shakes & healthy eating.

Ebay Sales - 9/9

I have closed my ebay store for a few days. We were on the road yesterday and will be driving from FL to PA on Tuesday & Wednesday. Since I wouldn't be able to ship during these days, I just did the easiest thing and closed the store.

Here is what sold during the last few days:

1. Spencer Alexis skirt. This skirt had a flaw - the seam was pulled and needed re-stitched. I didn't realize the flaw in the thrift store. If I was home, I would have stitched it myself. But, I am not home and I don't have a sewing machine with me on vacation. I sold it "as is" and got $20 for it.

2. Quacker Factory snowman sweater. Another "as is" item - this sweater use to light up but no longer worked. Still an adorable sweater and it sold for $16. By the way, I am TOTALLY wearing these kinds of sweaters when I get older. I am going to be one of those old ladies with themed sweaters for EVERY event!

3. Talbots dress, sold for $22.50.

4. Talbots suit, sold for $29.

5. Lafayette 148 New York skirt, sold for $30.

6. Chico's Travelers pants & top outfit, sold for $20. This would have went for a lot more but it was their smallest size (size 0).

7. New Chico's skirt, sold for $25.

8. Boden dress with a flaw. I had a lot of flawed items sell this week for some reason. Anyway...the previous owner washed this dress and it shrunk a bit. The dress shrunk but the lining did not and so it stuck out of the bottom. It sold for $13.50.

9. The Limited suit, sold for $17.

10. Another flawed item! I bring home a lot of stuff from the thrift and although I try to look over everything closely, I still wind up with missed flaws. I list them "as is" and hope for the best. This Ralph Lauren silk dress may have sold for $25 if it didn't have the flaw - a few pulls. But, it sold for $9 which is over double what I paid for it. I still make a few dollars and the item is gone from my inventory.

11. Chico's heavy coat, sold for $15. I have had this coat for the LONGEST time and it wasn't moving. I will no longer be buying Chico's heavier items to re-sell.

12. J. Jill velour skirt, sold for $14.

We may go thrifting again in Orlando today since it is raining. How dare it rain during our vacation !?! (Just kidding)

We really aren't amusement park people (The hubby gets sick going in a circle and I hate roller coasters) but we did find a fun theme park which is smaller has has things like rock walls, ropes courses and zip lines. We may go tonight or tomorrow if the rain stops.

Good-bye Anna Maria - Hello Orlando!

Well, we left our wonderful condo on Anna Maria Island today. We were there for three wonderful weeks. We drove about 1.5 hours to Orlando where we are staying at the Embassy Suites hotel for a few days.

We spent our last day at the condo in the pool. Here is my hubby floating on his pink raft.

My hubby reminded me to get a photo before we left the condo this morning.

Our Orlando hotel is SUPER nice - nicer than almost any hotel we have stayed at. We purchased the package on ebay and 90% of the monies went to fight Leukemia. We are here for 4 days and 3 nights. Here are a few photos of the courtyard.

Tonight we went to Waffle House. I had never been before and wanted to try it out. The food was really, really good. I had a waffle with strawberries, chocolate chips, sugar icing and whipped cream. My husband had a waffle, eggs, bacon, sausage and toast (yup, he eats a lot!).

And I'm sure no one wants to know...but here is the clothing I brought for a month in FL.
I was wearing a pair of white shorts & a top (in purple) while taking this so I did have another outfit. It was a mix-n-match kind of wardrobe in grays, white, blue & purple. Simple, simple, simple.

Well, the hotel is showing The Lady & The Tramp outside by the pool so I am going to run. Thanks for reading!
