Daybook Entry

Things are going to get crazy the new few days and so I thought I would take a few moments to fill out this "simple woman's daybook" entry. I'm linking up here: LINK.

Outside my window...  the sun is rising over the autumn foliage.

I am thinking...
about dying my hair back to brown today.

I am thankful...
that we are headed to Alexandria, Virginia on Monday. Yippee!

In the kitchen...
is almost nothing. We have been eating what we have left in the cupboards.

I am wearing...
  pajamas and a hoodie.

I am creating...
a clean house. We have home exchangers staying at our home next week. They are coming from the Netherlands.

I am going...
to have a good day. I keep repeating this to myself.

I am wondering...
if my knee will ever stop hurting. I have surgery scheduled for October 18.

I am reading...
nothing. This is highly unusual for me but I have been busy. I am saving my books & Nook books for the week after surgery when I am on bed rest.

I am hoping...
to seeing the autumn foliage on our drive east. My soul loves walking in the autumn leaves and that is not happening this year. Driving past the trees will be the next best thing.

I am looking forward to...
Thanksgiving. I am hoping I will be healed by then and we usually have family in town.

I am learning...
not to try to be perfect by my own efforts (Gal. 3:3).

Around the house...
are ebay bins. I am packing up 300+ items to take with us next week.

One of my favorite things...
are photos of the children we sponsor through Compassion International. They hang on the side of our fridge and I pray for them each time I see those little faces.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
clean the house, pack for a week in Virginia, keep off my knee (this will never happen), finish wrapping the Christmas gifts (I am sadly done shopping), pack all the ebay stuff, go to the post office to stop our mail and map out all the fun local spots for the home exchangers coming to stay.

  1. Praying for your knee. Miss you and glad you are getting away, though your house guests sound so cool!
